LOCKDOWN

Discussion on an emergency protocol that usually prevents people or information from leaving an area. The protocol can usually only be initiated by someone in a position of authority. Lockdowns can also be used to protect people inside a facility or, for example, a computing system, from a threat or other external event. The session covers potential emergencies that would require a building or tenancy lockdown response as well as its locations, access and egress points. Highlighted are the basic principle of locking down a facility and the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency Control Organisation in a lockdown scenario.

RESIDENTIAL AWARENESS

Covers significant information that are in line with the changes to independent living requirements in NSW under revised legislation. Emergency plans – from developing to reviewing one – is discussed in detail, together with other key safety information relevant to the changes. Highlighted on this session are awareness and training, and the residents’ participation – all in line with the independent living requirements.

RETIRED LIVING FIRE EVACUATION AWARENESS

Covers significant information that are in line with Section 189B of the Retirement Villages Act of NSW new mandatory requirements (Division Two - Section 58a and 58b - effective 1st of July 2019). Village or Retired Living Staff should be adequately trained in the emergency procedures – emergency procedure training in induction courses for new workers and refresher training for existing workers. Highlighted on this session are awareness and training, evacuation exercises, the residents’ participation, and the residents’ who need assistance – all in line with the new mandatory requirements

WORKPLACE FIRES

A fundamental training about fires that happen in workplaces - its components, equipment, and best practices for extinguishing. Whether or not to attempt first attack firefighting is covered on this course, together with the knowledge to identify appropriate equipment to use. Highlighted on this session are the basic fire components and the basic principle of fire protection equipment operation.

ACTIVE SHOOTER AND ARMED ACTIVE OFFENDER

Preparation and awareness training in an emergency instance that deals with active shooter and armed offender. Get a glimpse at some critical active shooter and armed active offender incidents that alter the course of health and safety history of Australia. The training also demonstrates the characteristics of such incidents and enlisted its corresponding prevention activities. Highlighted on this session are the police response and importantly, one’s roles to respond to these types of emergency.
